The two friends and business partners met in college, by way of a fraternity, and have maintained their special friendship for three decades and counting.  Having both attended Florida A&M University, they share the same passion for family, success, and God.  It was out of their shared passions, and long term friendship that Tom Jenkins BBQ. 

Housed in a roadside log cabin, once you drive past, you will fully understand just why lines are stretching out the door—at lunchtime, dinnertime, most anytime.  The aroma wafting out the door, of luscious meat being grilled over savory red oak and history is absolutely hard for one to resist.  Having filled the neighborhood with its delicious aroma since 1990, Tom Jenkins is pretty much a Broward tradition.

With its roots in having started as a traveling barbeque trailer, in 1996, the owners decided to take it to a completely new level by opening a 40-seat restaurant.  Although it has moved up in respect to its location, there is no denying that the same slow, oak-fired Southern-style pork specialties are being lovingly churned out.  The food is so great that Great Florida Restaurant Guide gave Tom Jenkins BBQ a spot on their 500 Best Places To Guide.

Their most loved menu item is that of their baby back ribs.  They are precision cut close to the hog’s back, producing a fat stack of meat from the curved bone.  They are then cooked up just perfect—but not fall off the bone.  Instead, there is just enough meat that it retains a firm and juicy center with a slight touch of pink.  The ribs are slathered in the owner’s own old family recipe.  The tasty blend of molasses, honey, and various secret ingredients, along with your choice of delicious side dishes, finish off the most delightful meal.
